Private Lessons are designed for guests who own or have access to a wake boat and want professional coaching on their own setup. Muskoka Wake instructors come to your dock, ride with your group, and help with wakeboarding, wakesurfing, waterskiing, rider technique, safety, and boat setup.
Private lessons are not just riding time. Our instructors help your group understand technique, progression, safety, rider confidence, and how to get more from your own boat.

Our certified instructors come right to your dock and work from your boat — dialling in your ballast and wake configuration, coaching your riders to the next level, or simply taking the helm so you can enjoy a day on the water with your family.
We work with any make or model of wake boat. Whether you’re riding behind a MasterCraft, Malibu, Nautique, Centurion, or anything else — our coaches know how to set it up and get the most out of it.
Your private lesson can focus on one sport or mix multiple activities into the same session. Muskoka Wake instructors coach wakeboarding, wakesurfing, waterskiing, and general wake boat skills based on your group’s goals and experience level.
Available on any lake in Muskoka and the surrounding area.

We had wake surfing lessons and our party was made up of beginners and experienced surfers. Everyone had a great time and felt like they got attention and the support they needed to improve and enjoy themselves.
The boat was clean, spacious, and state of the art. There were 10 of us and we were comfortable and could move around easily.

But Cole, Mitch, and Matt were incredibly professional, friendly, and welcoming—they made me feel at ease right away. Mitch was a fantastic coach—super encouraging and clearly knows what he’s doing. I attribute a lot of my positive experience to his guidance. Cole was driving while I was in the water, but he was still tuned into my progress and gave me some great tips too, which I really appreciated!

Our experience was professional from beginning to end. The driver and spotter We’re tied up at the dock when we arrived. Cam and Chase Introduced themselves from the get go, and were very personable and friendly.
Cam is a skillful driver and very knowledgeable instructor. His fun attitude combined with his technical knowledge make him an excellent coach.
Chase clearly loves surfing and does an excellent job hyping the crew with technical talk that is highly relatable and natural so that it is easy to remember and execute.
These guys made a great team and relayed stories and info about all sorts of related activities adding to the overall experience at a different level.
The equipement and boat they brought was top quality. They had multiple board shapes and sizes. I brought my own and I was glad I did because the wave was unbelievable and very different from my malibu wakesetter.
We were in a super air 23 which was a tonne of space and a huge wave. 8 50 yr old men fit comfortably.
I have hired muskoka wake now for 10 years and the one really consistent thing that shows up with all my experiences is the level of commitment to fun in the sport, along with safe practice and quality equipment.
We have wakeboarded and flyboarded in multiple locations In muskoka, including our own doc. Year after year the consistency of the message and the quality of delivery is still excellent.

Captain Jack went above and beyond especially with the children who haven’t stopped talking about him… the connection and confidence they had in and with him made it easy for them to trust him, to get out of their comfort zone and to progress their skills.
Their watercraft are luxurious, top of the line machines that make it easy to learn and comfortable to cheer on your friends/family!
In my opinion Muskoka Wake is the easiest way to upgrade your Muskoka holiday from great to Epic. We look forward to our next experience with Muskoka Wake.

What are Private Lessons?
Private Lessons are personalized wakeboard, wakesurf, and waterski coaching sessions for guests who already own or have access to a wake boat.
Muskoka Wake instructors come to your dock, coach from your boat, and help your family or group improve technique, confidence, safety, and progression on your own lake.
Do I need a specific type or brand of boat?
No. We work with any make or model of wake boat — MasterCraft, Malibu, Nautique, Centurion, or anything else. If it can pull a rider, we can coach from it.
How many people can join a lession?
Up to 12 people in your group. We recommend no more than 3 riders per hour to ensure everyone gets enough time behind the boat. Spectators are always welcome.
What's the difference between Private Lessons and Dockside Clinics?
Private Lessons are for customers who own their own wake boat — we come to your dock and coach from your vessel. Dockside Clinics are for customers who don’t own a boat — we arrive with our own 2026 MasterCraft or Malibu.
What sports can we learn in a Private Lesson?
Private Lessons can include wakeboarding, wakesurfing, waterskiing, and general wake boat coaching.
Your group can focus on one sport or mix multiple activities into the same session depending on goals, rider experience, water conditions, and the amount of time booked.
Can beginners book Private Lessons?
Yes. Private Lessons are a good fit for beginners because the instructor can focus on your group’s skill level, comfort, and learning pace.
Our coaches help first-time riders with body position, starts, balance, handle control, safety, and confidence before moving into more advanced skills.
Can kids join Private Lessons?
Yes. Kids can join Private Lessons as long as they are comfortable in the water and ready to follow instructor guidance.
Private coaching is often a strong option for families because the session can move at the child’s pace and focus on safety, confidence, and fun.
Can you help us set up our boat?
Yes. A major benefit of Private Lessons is that instructors can help you get more from your own boat.
Depending on your boat and equipment, our coaches can help with speed, rope length, ballast, wake shape, safety setup, rider communication, and general driving tips for wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and waterskiing.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Muskoka Wake monitors weather and water conditions for safety. Sessions may run in light rain, but unsafe conditions such as thunder, lightning, heavy rain, or strong wind may require cancellation or rescheduling.
If Muskoka Wake cancels because of unsafe weather or water conditions, there is no charge.
