You’ve rented a Muskoka cottage. You’ve got the dock, the lake, and a long weekend ahead of you. There’s one thing missing: the wakesurf boat.
Good news. You don’t need one. Our Dockside Clinics bring our wakesurf boat directly to your dock — along with two certified instructors and every piece of gear you’ll need. Show up with nothing — we’ve got everything.
Here’s everything you need to know to spend an afternoon, evening, or all day on the water during your Muskoka cottage stay — even if you’ve never been on a board in your life.
How a Dockside Clinic actually works
Our Boat. Our Expertise. We bring a 2026 MasterCraft or Malibu wakesurf boat — the same wakesurf boats used by professional riders — directly to your cottage dock. Two certified instructors arrive with the boat. Boards, ropes, life jackets — all included.
The boat is yours for the session — no other groups, no shared space, just your group. Sessions accommodate groups of all sizes — we’ll talk through the right setup based on how many people are riding versus watching.
You can mix sports across a single session. Wakeboarding, wakesurfing, wakefoiling, waterskiing — pick what your group wants to try, or rotate through. Add an E-Foil board demo if you want something completely different.
What you can actually do (with zero experience)
If you’ve never tried any of this before, here’s what’s actually easy and what takes a bit more time.
Wakesurfing. No rope. No bindings. Just you and the wave. The easiest watersport to learn — most first-timers are up within their first few attempts. The wakesurf boat creates a wave behind it, you ride that wave, and once you’re on it you can stay on it as long as you want. This is the one to try first.
Wakeboarding. Boots, board, and progression from first rides to bigger tricks. Steeper learning curve than wakesurfing — first-timers usually need a few attempts to consistently get up — but addictive once you do. If you’ve snowboarded, you’ll pick this up faster.
Waterskiing. The classic Muskoka watersport, taught for all skill levels. Two skis for beginners, one for the more advanced. Most adults who tried it as children find it comes back fast.
E-Foiling. Silent, smooth, and unlike anything else on the lake. A battery-powered E-Foil board lifts you above the water. The board rides solo — sometimes following the wakesurf boat, sometimes off exploring the lake on its own. Most people who try it immediately want to know where to buy one.
Flyboarding. High-energy, unforgettable, and easier to try than it looks. A jet-powered board that propels you above the water — and the whole thing happens right at the dock. Everyone watching gets a front-row seat while the wakesurf boat is parked. It’s the best spectator sport we offer.
Don’t want to ride? Don’t want to wet your hair? Some of the best moments of a Dockside Clinic happen on the dock, not on the boat. People who don’t want to get in the water — children who aren’t quite ready, parents who’d rather watch, friends who’d rather take photos — are part of the day, not on the sidelines.
Flyboarding, in particular, happens right at the dock — you stay close, the rider stays close, and the show is impossible to look away from. E-foiling rides off solo or alongside the boat, so spectators get a clear view of the lake and a quiet board carving across it. Wakesurfing and wakeboarding take place behind the boat, but
binoculars or a long lens turn the dock into the best seat in the house.

Don’t have a dockable cottage? Still no problem. If your cottage isn’t on a dockable lake — or if you’re just visiting Muskoka for the day and don’t have a cottage at all — meet us at any of our 8 locations across Muskoka. Through our partnership with Maple Leaf Marinas, we operate from:
- Lake Muskoka: Walkers Point, Gordon Bay (formerly Spirit Bay), Bala Cove
- Lake Joseph: Gordon Bay Marine, Port Sandfield
- Lake Rosseau: Windermere
- Lake of Bays: Baysville
- Huntsville area: Huntsville Marine (Peninsula Lake, Fairy Lake, Lake Vernon)
If you’re not on one of these lakes, we can also trailer the wakesurf boat to most lakes in Muskoka and the surrounding area. Just ask when you book.
What to bring (and what you don’t need to)
Bring: A swimsuit. A towel. Sunscreen — lake reflection burns you faster than you’d think. Water and a snack if you want one.
Don’t worry about: A board (we have several, beginner-friendly to advanced). A life jacket (premium ones included for every rider). Knowing what you’re doing (that’s our job).
Already own a wakesurf boat? If you’ve got your own wakesurf boat at the cottage and want our certified instructors on it instead, that’s Private Lessons — Your Boat. Our Expertise. We come to your dock, dial in your ballast and wake configuration, and work with whatever your group wants to focus on. Any make, any model. Get the most out of your investment.
When to book us
Peak Muskoka watersports season runs from the May long weekend through mid-September. Within that window, the busiest times are weekends in July and August. If you have specific dates in mind, book at least two weeks ahead — three is safer for popular slots, especially Saturdays. Weekday mornings are the easiest to book and often the best on the water — calmer lakes, less boat traffic.

The bottom line
In Muskoka this summer, an unforgettable day on the water is only one click or call away. We bring the wakesurf boat, the instructors, and everything you need. Your group brings whoever’s coming.
